Learning About Myself as a Writer This Year

I have learned a lot about myself as a writer from the beginning of freshman year up to the end of freshman year. At the beginning of freshman year, my writing was always short and sweet and to the point. This was most likely because I wasn’t used to having to write long papers or detailed blog posts. By the end of freshman year, since I am now used to having to write detailed two paragraph blog posts every week and the occasional long paper, my writing is longer and it comes natural to me to have to make the piece of writing long and detailed. Another thing I have changed about my writing throughout freshman year is using detailed, vivid imagery. I feel like this gives the readers a feel for the piece of writing I am writing. Some improvements I have made in my writing throughout the year is making my sentences have more detail and have a better sentence structure. I have learned many things about myself as a writer that I did not know over the course of freshman year.
