Writing Goals for Next Year

I have many goals for my writing next year. For example, one of my goals for my writing next year is to get an A on at least one of the papers I will have to write over the course of sophomore year. I always made a B on my English papers this year, but next year that is something I would like to change. I am going to take the helpful feedback I received from my papers this year and apply them to my papers next year. Another one of my goals is to make my writing interesting and not just have to write it because it is an assigned piece of writing. For example, I feel like my blogs were never interesting, unless I really liked the topic and could write a lot about it, and I want to change that to make them interesting and enjoyable for the readers to read. I want the readers to want to read and enjoy my writing. I have two main goals I would like the achieve over the course of sophomore year and I am going to do everything I am capable of to reach these goals.

Areas I Still Need to Work on in My Writing

Some areas that I still need to work on in order to make my writing better are the use of commas to avoid comma splices, being able to meet the length requirement without a problem, and making my writing interesting and not too boring to read. I have always had a problem with commas in my papers. This may seem like a silly issue but when it comes to the overall development of the paper, commas really do matter. Another thing I need to work on is being able to meet the length requirement without having to fluff the paper up too much. One last thing I need to work on in my writing is making it interesting and enjoyable for the readers to read. I can usually make my writing interesting if the topic of the blog post is a free post, but I need to work on being able to make it interesting if the topic is the most boring topic ever. When...

My Strengths as a Writer

My strengths as a writer are being able to use vivid detail, having good sentence structure, and making my paragraphs well developed. I try to use vivid detail to give the readers of my blog a feel for the piece of writing. For example, in my personal narrative I wrote about lake day at camp. I tried to use vivid detail when explaining everything to make the readers feel like they were actually there. I try to use good sentence structure in mostly all of my sentences of a piece of writing ranging from a blog post to a research essay. I do this to make the blog post or paper more developed and hopefully get a better grade because of it. I try to make my paragraphs well developed by making them long enough to be a paragraph and making every sentence in the paragraph relevant to the topic of paragraph. I consider myself a writer who has these strengths as a writer.
